Overview

When Adam Gribben told us his vision for his new company, we were hooked. The startup he proposed would maintain close relationships with everyone involved in the process of meat production, from farm to plate. This would start with the animals and farms and spread to the processing plants, continuing on to delivery and service to customers. His guiding question was: what is best for the animal, the farmer and the consumer? Making sure all three were addressed and prioritized was the driving force behind his mission and purpose. He came to Ghost to get the brand story and materials right.

How We Helped

Ghost explored the history of local butcher shops and the culture of modern meat markets and processing. The concept of “heritage” resonated with successful storefronts that had survived generations. We found inspiration in local display cases, price tags and marquee signage at these family shops. We built a modular identity system that let the brand explore various elements in combination, rather than an all-or-nothing approach. The name came from the year of Oklahoma’s statehood - 1907 - and captures a pride and tie-in to Oklahoma’s history and traditions. The brand system includes a strong color scheme, typefaces and illustrated stamps we paired with custom photography of actual farmers and animals. We developed a tagline that spoke to the value and drive of the company: “The premium standard wasn’t available. So we created it.”
